What has changed?

On November 29th 2013 the EU has agreed on Guidance
Notes for the classification of food extracts with colouring
properties (more simply referred to as Colouring Foods).
This is to bring clarity in deciding if a colouring product is
either a Colouring Food or an additive colour
(with its corresponding E number).

What are the possible consequences?

If your product is coloured (and labelled) with a Colouring Food
and this specific Colouring Food is not in compliance with
the EU Guidance Notes then it will be necessary
to change your labelling and/or formulation.

Is the colouring product
you are currently using
still a Colouring Food according to the new
EU Guidance Notes?
